I can now count on one hand the number of months until we are married. ONE HAND!!
It is starting to become a reality that our wedding is actually going to happen. For a girl that has been dreaming of something for so long, it's hard to even put into words the excitement that is surging within me.
Besides seeing my beloved all dressed up, I think I am most excited for that moment with my dad where it's just the two of us standing in the back of the church waiting for our moment. I know that I am going to be a bundle of nerves and emotions. Dad is going to crack some smart @$$ comment to make me laugh and avoid not having to say what we are both thinking. I think it's going to be the moment where I realize that I'll no longer be Ms. V, but a Mrs. F. Obviously, I know it's going to happen, I'm the one choosing to change my name, but I think it will hit me then. I'm such a daddy's girl, I'm probably going to bawl the entire way down the aisle at the rehearsal. Hopefully, the adrenaline will take over on the wedding day, because I'm not sure I want 250 people see me doing the "ugly cry." I'm going to need to invest in some water proof mascera, because I'm tearing up just thinking about it. Yikes, people, I'm gonna be an emotional mess.
What was the favorite part of your wedding day? If you aren't married yet, what are you most looking forward too?

Bead It!
Yay! I love these DIY wedding projects. What will I do when the wedding's over? Today I spent an hour or two stringing some beads to add to the flower ball tree decorations. You can't really see the sparkle here, because, well, my camera sucks. But I love how they are turning out!

Aisle Runner
Since my computer died, and I was without a computer (still am!), I have chosen to occupy my time with other projects. Up first was my aisle runner. On Wednesday, I got everything set up to go. I couldn't find any tape, but thought that I would be okay if I just stacked books to hold down the aisle runner.
For the second go around, I decided to do our names in the light pink. Not sure I like it better than the brown though. Oh well.
Note to self if you are going to attempt this: It wasn't.
TAKE 1
This was after I had spent about 2 hours on it...I got to the top part of the F, and the aisle runner shifted. Not a huge deal, but the wet paint on the saran wrap below instantly soaked up on the runner. Good thing I had an extra 9 feet.
The lighter shade of dark pink does not appear to be on the runner, but alas, it was. Poo.
So today, my computer is still in the shop (I should get it back tomorrow, yay!), so I thought I would try again. This time I searched out some tape so everything was double taped down. I printed out the monogram at school, copied on to an overhead and then traced it on to a big sheet of paper.
TAKE 2
Making sure that it's lined up straight before I tape the aisle runner down this time.
Which paint brush should I use?

For the second go around, I decided to do our names in the light pink. Not sure I like it better than the brown though. Oh well. Cupcake Holder
Because we are having a dessert buffet, I came across the cutest idea for holding the cupcakes. I didn't want to pay $24 at Michaels for a holder that can fit 12 cupcakes. One internet search later, I have directions for making a cupcake stand.
Instead of buying the pack of 10 for 12.00 at the store, I headed up to my local bakery and bought 18 cake rounds for $3.60.
I then cut them to the different sizes I needed. I'm doing 8 inch, 10 inch and 12 inch circles.
Here I used a compass to draw the size I needed:
Then used an exacto knife to cut around it:
Now I'm ready for assembly. I took scrapbook paper, cut out the circle and used Mod Podge to glue it down on top.
I attached ribbon to tagboard paper
Can you find my DIY helper?
Once I was finished, I wrapped the ribbon/tagboard around the circle, fastening it with silver straight pins.I then covered the green styrofoam cylinders with heavier scrapbook paper and also fastened it down with silver straight pins.
I used Tacky Glue to attached the cylinders to the circles.
And we have a cupcake tower!! I should mention that we are having mini cupcakes, which is why I chose to have smaller circles. These circles probably wouldn't be a great size for regular sized cupcakes.
I am making two of these so that's why there are two different kinds of ribbon on the outside. I didn't have enough of the brown and pink dots roll to finish this cake holder (All the ribbon is at my parent's house!)
Not too shabby!
Grand Totals:
Cake Rounds: $3.60
Scrapbook Paper: $2.00
Ribbon: 2 spools x $1.00=$2.00
Silver Straight Pins: $2.88 (did not use whole box)
Mod Podge: $5.00 (did not use whole container)
Tacky Glue: $3.00 (did not use whole container)
Total Cost: $14.88 (divided by 2: $7.44 per cake tower!)
