Taking advantage...

...of the gorgeous weather and my little brother's truck. We headed out to my aunt and uncle's farm to gather branches for decorations at the reception.
First, you have to stand around and think about which branches to take....
Once found, you have to hoist them up on your back...
...and drag them to the truck.
Then you put two branches in a bucket filled with some softner salt (hey, it's all we had!)
...and add some flower balls and tealights.

Not too shabby. Pretty darn creative, if I do say so myself! :)

Hair Trial One

The joys of having your mother as your hairdresser are that you can do your hair as often as you would like....or at least as often as she would like! My mom squeezed me in today...Here's run numbero uno.
This is just a rough mockup of what we hope to accomplish. We didn't have enough curl, and this was after about 4 hours, while standing out in the wind for 15 minutes or so. Please disregard my parent's ugly laminate floor.

Once my hair gets a little bit longer, we'll be able to pull the bottom up more, and have more height at the top!
We also met with Caroline, the lady that will be doing our flowers! I'm so excited. Should I keep my choices a secret? I think I just may!

Which one?

I'm meeting with a potential florist this weekend when I go home for Easter. I change my top pick like I change my underwear (which is everyday, thank.you.very.much.)

So give me your opinion: Which do you like best? (Bonus for the bridesmaids, you could potentially pick out your flowers!)

A: (with pink and white, obviously!)
B:

C:
D: (with more pink color mixed in)

Unity Candle

I found gorgeous candles on Etsy but could not justify spending $50 for a candle. So what do I do? I decide to make it myself. Turned out pretty nice, if I can say so myself!

More ideas!

I am truly in love with all aspects of planning this wedding! I just get so caught up in all the little details. Will anyone else appreciate all the tiny things I've done? Probably just my mom and Cara, because they are the ones that listen to my constant brainstorms and idea changes.
We have been working on coming up with an easy, yet awesome, decoration idea for the reception hall. We are tackling this project ourselves, so it can't be anything too complicated. In my never ending search on the internet, I came across this picture:
AH! Perfect! I have been trying to figure out where I can encorporate the monogram I created and this may very well be the solution! One aisle runner, a little paint, and I hope to have a DIY initial banner that looks almost as cool as this one!
I have the steps all down in my head, now let's just see if I can make it work!

On the stationery side of the wedding planning, we have currently purchased all paper for our invites and programs! My parents came up last weekend and we headed over to Paper Depot. We had previously been there to make the mockup so we just had to order what we needed! I found envelopes for 16 cents from here instead of paying the 50 cents that they wanted to charge at Paper Depot. We ordered them on Saturday and they arrived on Tuesday! When I talked to my mom today, she said they were even able to find the rest of the patterned paper for the sides of the invites!
I'm going to figure out how to blur out the personal information and I"ll come back to edit the insert cards. I'm SO impressed with out they turned out. I love them so much! :)
